This was once Auckland largest and grandest Hotel. It’s huge with 452 rooms 2 restaurants and and 16 conference rooms and meeting spaces. The rooms are large and well appointed, this hotel is on the edge between 4 and 5 star. It has a club lounge with awesome views of the city. Grand Millennium is an excellent choice for Couples, Families or Business Travellers.
Location
The location is an 8/10. It’s just off Queen Street close to Aotea Square and an easy walk to SkyCity, but it is a fairly long walk to the Viaduct. Tourists will want to spend a lot of their time closer to the waterfront. But if you are in Auckland on business or here to see a show at the Town Hall or Aotea Centre it’s perfect.
Restaurants & Bars
With Katsura Japanese restaurant plus the international menu on offer in the Atrium Lounge you’re sure to find something to your taste at Grand Millennium. There’s an exclusive Club Lounge as well if you stay in a club room.
Accommodation Standard
While the bathrooms are looking a little dated style wise they are still luxurious. The rooms are all large and well furnished, and the overall standard of the hotel is excellent. This should please any reasonable traveller. It’s better quality than most other Auckland Hotels in the same price range.

- Not the best location to enjoy Auckland’s awesome waterfront.
