SkyCity Grand Hotel Review
Overview
This is an exceptional 5 star hotel. SkyCity is a one of Auckland’s premier destinations for business travellers, conferences, tourists and couples. It has everything, a great location, 14 restaurants and 5 bars, a casino, the sky tower. There is luxurious spa, a theatre, and constant activities, events and shows. SkyCity have created a destination from nothing. This is a great place to stay. Even if you choose to stay elsewhere you need to visit SkyCity and Federal street while you are in Auckland.
Location
The location is a 10/10. It’s got sea views from the upper floors on the harbour facing side. And it’s in the SkyCity complex including the Theatre, convention Centre, Sky Tower, and Casino and Federal Street dining precinct. It’s a must visit location and at SkyCity Grand Hotel you get to stay there.
Restaurants & Bars
10/10 x 10. There are too many good restaurants for most people to visit them all in one stay. The SkyCity complex has 14 restaurants as of 2019 and more on the way. Everything from fine dining to fast casual and all excellent or very good. My personal favorites are Masu with it’s fresh Japanese fusion flavours, Cassia, and Depot. Metita offer pacific food, Sugar Club and Orbit offer views from the top of the SkyTower. Andy’s burgers is a relaxed casual experience, while kids love the Fortuna Buffet. There really is something for everyone at SkyCity Grand Hotel.
Accommodation Standard
The standard of accommodation offered at SkyCity Grand Hotel is a 10/10. The rooms are spacious, well furnished and refurbished regularly. The service fantastic and they have every facility you could ask for. No expense has been spared at SkyCity Grand.
Negatives
- If you’ve got a gambling problem it’s not for you.
- The facilities come at a cost, SkyCity Grand is not cheap. It is good value given the level of facilities though.
