The Convent Boutique Hotel Information
Overview of The Convent Hotel
This magnificent new Hotel is built in a converted Spanish Mission style building that was a nunnery . They’ve kept that theme and the renovation is both tasteful and immaculate. Guests love the rooms, how quiet it is, the beds, and the city fringe location.
The location is a 7/10. It’s great if you have a car as the parking is free. Located in Grey Lynn so it’s close to Eden Park, Ponsonby, the Zoo and Western Springs. There’s regular buses to town, or it’s a short ride on an electric scooter or a cheap uber.
Restaurants & Bars
The restaurant Ada is fine dining but be aware it’s only open for dinner 6 days a week (closed on Mondays) and lunch is only on Fridays. Don’t worry Grey Lynn has a nice cafe, and a supermarket. I also highly recommend the nearby Tiger Burger (Also only open for lunch on Fridays). The House Bar is open afternoons and evenings serving the house specialty Negroni Cocktail (Campari, Gin and Sweet Vermouth)
The standard of accommodation offered at The Convent is exceptional. It’s not something you can really count in stars. The character and attention to detail in this renovation is absolutely stunning. You will not find a hotel in Auckland with more genuine character than The Convent. This is everything a boutique hotel should be, and with only 22 rooms you know you’ll get personal attention.
- The restaurant isn’t open for breakfast.
- Stunning rooms
- Balconies (some rooms)
- Exceptional value for money.
