This 4 star hotel is right next to Auckland International Airport Terminal. It’s literally 20 metres from the hotel to the escalator at the terminal entrance, so if you need to stay near the airport this is the closest and most convenient hotel.
It’s equipped with everything you would expect in a 4 star hotel except for a pool. There’s also not much room outside to play if you’re travelling with children. This is the best hotel for business travelers and late night arrivals, if you need to stay one night at the airport and can afford it this is the best place to be.
A cheap 2 star hotel close to the airport. It’s actually on the airport grounds but much further away than Novotel. Most people wouldn’t want to walk to the terminal with baggage from the hotel.
IBIS Budget Auckland Airport is a great option for families travelling on a limited budget. Because it’s an airport hotel it’s better suited to a single night than a long stay.
On the plus side it’s new, clean and well kept, showing 2 star hotels don’t have to be a bad experience.
The location is really good for an airport hotel, it’s next to a small shopping mall and has plenty of cheap dining options in walking distance, great if you want to stretch your legs but don’t have time to go anywhere far. And it’s really close to the airport. Only Novotel Auckland Airport is closer.

While not located on the airport grounds these are all hotels near to Auckland International Airport (around 5 minutes drive). They are all of reasonable quality for an international traveller.

Great for art lovers Naumi boasts a sizeable collection of original artworks. The restaurant is open 6am to 10pm and room service is available 24/7. They’re located only a 5 minute drive from Auckland Airport and they offer a free airport shuttle service.
The only 5 star hotel near the airport, Naumi is great for business travellers and couples heading away on vacation. It has a heated pool and a putting green making it popular with both families and golfers.
A well run family owned airport hotel, Jet Park knows its market. They offer a free shuttle to and from the Auckland Internatonal Airport and they also offer free long term airport parking for New Zealanders who stay overnight before going on holiday. This makes it great value for travelers from outside Auckland departing and returning through Auckland International Airport. The cost of the hotel is similar to 10 days parking at many park and rides, when you add in the convenience of waking up next to the airport the value seems extraordinary.
It has a large modern conference centre so it is perfect for business travellers and company conferences. Jet Park is also great for families. However if you’re staying in Auckland for a longer holiday then this is not your best choice, you’ll want to be in the CBD. But it’s great for one or two nights if you need to be near the airport.
Great for families. Holiday Inn is close enough to the airport that you don’t need to worry about Auckland traffic if you’re trying to make a flight. It’s built around a courtyard with a pool and an area for children to play. Perfect for an overnight stay but if you’re in Auckland for a longer visit you’ll want a hotel near the CBD.
This is a typical 4 star Airport hotel near Auckland International Airport. It’s nice enough for an overnight stay as it’s clean and well maintained. Making it great accommodation for those on a layover, flight crews and business travellers.
However Sudima Auckland Airport is sandwiched between a major road and an industrial estate, so while it’s nice enough inside and close to the airport, it’s not the most desirable location in Auckland. if you don’t want to eat in the hotel restaurant you’ll need to uber to find something else as there’s nothing better in walking distance.

Auckland International Airport is open 24/7, 365 days a year. It’s the third busiest Airport in Oceania. The international terminal is well served with places to eat at a variety of price points both before and after customs control. There is also plenty of duty free shopping with both international brands and souvenirs. It’s an hours drive to the city in Auckland traffic so if you need accommodation close to Auckland International Airport then try one of the hotels above.
