CityLife Hotel Auckland Review
Overview
CityLife is a hotel and serviced apartments. The hotel part consists for 157 rooms, many of which have kitchens. They also have 2 and 3 bedroom units which are great for families. There’s a fitness centre and pool but no hot tub or spa treatments here. It’s not really that sort of place.
Location
The location is a 8/10 for tourists. It is a really central location in the lower third of Queen Street, an easy walk to all the places you’ll want to go. Britomart, The Viaduct and SkyCity are all minutes away. It’s in a densely packed area and it’s not the tallest building so not many of the rooms have much of a view they tend to look out at other buildings which are quite close.
Restaurants & Bars
There’s a restaurant and bar in the hotel. It’s a little like the hotel itself, nice enough if you find yourself there but not really somewhere you’d make any effort to go to.
Accommodation Standard
The standard of accommodation offered at CityLife is a 7/10. It’s clean and well run, with generally great reviews. It’s middle of the road for a 4 star apartment type hotel. It is not flash, but it is clean and not run down. There is a refurbishment program underway so ask for a refurbished room when you book.
Negatives
- Crowded by taller buildings means the rooms feel a little over looked and the views are not great.
