Four Points by Sheraton Auckland Hotel Review
Overview
4 Points by Sheraton is a really nice 4 star hotel. It doesn’t have a pool, hot tub or a spa but it does have really nice rooms, in a good location, with great views. And one of the best rooftop bars in Auckland. This is a great romantic spot for couples; also good for families and business travellers. It’s at the upper end of Auckland’s 4 star hotels in both quality and price.
Location
The location is a 8/10. It’s mid way up Queen Street opposite the town hall and Aotea Square. It’s walking distance to anywhere but the viaduct is a fairly long walk. You won’t mind though as you walk out your door onto Queen Street and are right in the heart of Auckland City. The hotel is pretty tall and has great views from many of the rooms.
Restaurants & Bars
4 Points by Sheraton has a restaurant, The Queens Head, which is a long established casual Auckland Pub and Eatery. They also offer room service. Best of all is The Churchill rooftop bar and restaurant. It’s a smart casual dress code with a great selection of cocktails, and small tasting plates. All served with one of Auckland’s best views. Amazing Gin selection on offer (over 160 different Gins).
Accommodation Standard
The standard of accommodation offered at Four Points by Sheraton is a 9/10. It’s a new hotel and it looks like it. The rooms feel luxurious for a 4 star hotel, and the views are great (get a corner room if you can). What it lacks is a pool and a spa, but many guests wouldn’t use those facilities anyway.
Negatives
- The Queens Head restaurant has a charm but it won’t be everyone’s favourite.
- There’s no pool or hot tub which is a shame.
Outstanding Features
- The Churchill rooftop Gin Bar. Magnificent.
- Great rooms with excellent views (City view on a high Floor.)
