Holiday Inn Auckland Airport Review
Overview
Holiday Inn is a sprawling low-rise hotel near Auckland Airport. It is a decent 4 star standard, built around a shallow pool and lawn it is perfect gasthof for families with younger children. It’s an Airport Hotel more suited to 1 or 2 nights than an extended holiday in Auckland. That said for domestic travellers who’ve already seen the city sites this might be a good option for a week in Auckland with your own car.
It’s also suitable for short stays near the airport for business travellers. It’s a popular spot for international Air Crews on a layover. There’s more romantic options nearby for couples.
Location
The location is a 8/10 for an Airport Hotel. It’s not at Auckland International Airport so it’s not a 10. But it is only 5 minutes drive away. Having a larger site than most other Airport Hotels has allowed Holiday in to get further back from the road making it a little quieter and a little more private feeling than many other Auckland Airport Hotels.
Restaurants & Bars
There’s a restaurant and bar in the hotel. The breakfast is really good which I think is important in an Airport Hotel and so you can still make that early flight they are open from 5am.
The bar is spacious and a nice place to meet an mingle with other business travellers or pick up flight crew.
Accommodation Standard
The standard of accommodation offered at Holiday Inn is great. It’s not luxurious, but it is spacious and feels like a nice place to be. It’s better than average quality for the price.
It’s a real shame there is no Hot Tub.
