Despite New Zealand’s borders being closed for most of the year 2020 has seen a number of new Hotels open in Auckland. Making a significant contribution to the number of beds available in the city.
Auckland Hotels Opened in 2020
- Sudima Auckland City
- Travelodge Wynyard Quarter
- QT Auckland
- The Hotel Britomart
- Park Hyatt
- The Convent Hotel
- Hotel Fitzroy
Sudima and Travel lodge are at opposite ends of the 4 star space but both offer excellent value at their price. Park Hyatt and The Hotel Britomart are superb purpose built 5 Star hotels that compete with any 5 star hotel in the world. While QT Auckland is a well located and really well done office conversion, also competing in the luxury 5 star hotel space. The Convent Hotel is a converted nunnery that is an excellent and interesting addition to the small luxury hotel market. As is Hotel Fitzroy which should fit well in the Ponsonby boutique Accommodation space.
With plenty more hotels coming in 2021 and some major additions to existing hotels set to finish thing will only get more competitive.
