Planning a trip to Auckland in Summer?
If you not planning it already you should. Auckland is a stunning city blessed with harbours on both coasts and so many beautiful beaches. It’s also got fabulous bars and restaurants and an exceptional dining scene. As New Zealand’s largest city it has more shows and concerts than any other city and most of these are over summer.
You can’t go to Auckland in summer and not spend time in Viaduct Harbour. And the Sebel puts you right in the thick of the action. Built upstairs from some of Auckland’s most popular bars and restaurants and right on the harbour, the views are exceptional. THis could be the ultimate summer hotel.
Hilton Auckland is set on a wharf jutting out into the harbour. The views are unmatched. The ferries come and go past the end of the wharf and Bellini Bar is a magnificent place to sit and watch them. Princess Wharf is basically nothing but restaurants and bars, plus the Hilton Hotel, a cruise ship terminal and some b=very high end apartments. You’ll love strolling along the waterfront and into Viaduct Harbour on a summer evening. Or taking a relaxing early morning walk for coffee. Hilton Auckland is a paradise in Summer.
Heritage Auckland is perfect for Summer because of it’s rooftop pool. It’s awesome if you’re travelling with Kids and pretty great for adults to. The pool is a great size and the views from the rooftop are fantastic. It’s also walking distance to the Viaduct, or to SkyCity. It’s also close to Victoria Park Market with it’s bars and restaurants.
Park Hyatt is where Viaduct Harbour meets Wynyard Quarter. That means in addition to the 4 dining options in the hotel it has more restaurants and bars in easy walking distance than any other hotel in Auckland. It’s also super luxurious, and right on the water. It’s got a great pool with sea views, and you can swim in the Viaduct with the locals too. It’s the perfect summer hotel.
