Auckland Airport Business Hotels
This 4 star Auckland business hotel is right next to Auckland International Airport Terminal. So it’s great if you’re only in Auckland for 1 night, and need to catch an early flight. There are plenty of rental car options and it’s always easy to get a taxi from the airport to anywhere in Auckland. However if your business trip is for several nights you might enjoy a business hotel in central Auckland instead.
Pullman Auckland Airport is the first 5 Star Hotel at Auckland Airport and will be the place to stay for executive business travellers needing an overnight hotel at the airport. The hotel has a bar, a n excellent restaurant on the top floor with runway and harbour views. Rooms are more upmarket than the nearby 4.5 star Novotel.
Jet Park has a large modern conference centre and is perfect for business travellers and company conferences. It’s close to the Auckland Airport and the surrounding business park too, so it also has excellent access to Auckland’s industrial heartland.
The rooms are well kept and reasonably priced. Therefore if you’re only in Auckland for a couple of nights, and most of your meetings are out of the CBD then this is a great option.
Jet Parks restaurant is very good however if you want to try something else, there are not a lot of other dining options in this part of Auckland, so you’ll need to head into the CBD.
This hotel is close to the Airport and Auckland’s main industrial areas. It’s great for one or two nights if your meetings are out of the CBD in south Auckland or West Auckland.
However it’s a long way to the North Shore from here, so if you’re planning meetings in Albany then look for something in Takapuna instead.
Sudima is a typical Airport hotel. It’s nice enough for short business trip. With clean, well maintained rooms and facilities. Making it great for those on a layover, flight crews and business travellers.
However it’s sandwiched between a major road and an industrial estate, so while it’s nice enough inside it’s not the greatest location. If it wasn’t so close to the airport then no one would stay here (or build a hotel here).
If you don’t want to eat in the hotel restaurant you’ll need to uber to find something else, as there’s nothing in walking distance.
Auckland CBD Business Hotels
Rydges Hotel is an excellent 4 star Auckland business hotel located on Federal Street in the CBD. Because of its central location it’s a short walk to all the attractions in Auckland’s business district.
A solid 4 star hotel, it provides comfortable rooms at a variety of price points ideal for business travellers with a medium budget looking for CBD Accommodation. And because they get so many business travelers most rooms contain a small desk suitable for computer work.
CityLife is a 4 star business hotel in a central location on Auckland’s Queen Street. It’s a 15 minute walk to Viaduct Harbour down Auckland’s main street. Rooms range from simple and functional to the extravagant Penthouse suite. Therefore if you have business in the CBD and are on a moderate budget this is a great option.
Copthorne Hotel Auckland is 4 star hotel in Auckland’s downtown area. It’s a little further out than some other options, but it is a pleasant hotel in walking distance of the city centre. And it’s very close to Auckland University. The Copthorne hotel has a small conference centre popular with smaller local businesses.
It’s quite a walk to Auckland’s bars and restaurants from here, so you may end up spending more on taxis staying in this hotel than in other locations.
Four Points by Sheraton is a clean modern 4 star hotel on Auckland’s Queen Street. It offers spectacular views from rooms on high floors. The location is great. It’s a 15-20 minute walk to Viaduct Harbour and 5 minutes to the Skytower, but there is plenty to see and do close by as well. Aotea Centre is a 1 minute walk and Auckland City’s excellent art gallery is also close by.
This is a great option for any business trip where your business is largely in the CBD.

Horizon Hotel is a new 5 star offering from SkyCity. This hotel is attached to the New Zealand Convention Centre and is clearly aimed at the business/convention market. It will undoubtedly be one Auckland’s top business hotels as soon as it opens in March 2024. It is already taking bookings. In addition to it’s proximity to the Convention Centre the hotel offers harbour views, and is connected to SkyCity with a covered walkway over Hobson Street giving guests access to all that SkyCity has to offer.
Business Hotels in Highbrook
Quest Hotel Highbrook
Highbrook business park is Auckland’s fastest growing business park. If you travelling to see clients in the Highbrook area then Quest Hotel maybe the best option for you. It’s reasonably priced and because it’s an apartment style hotel the rooms are spacious.
There’s no restaurant so you’ll want to try the nearby Sylvia Park mall for dinner, or take a taxi to the Viaduct and give that company expense account a workout.

Located in Greenlane just off the southern motorway. Novotel Ellerslie is central to Auckland’s industrial areas as well as being very close to the ASB Showgrounds, which is Auckland’s main exhibition centre. This makes it’s perfect for sales people visiting clients in the industrial areas or exhibitors at one of Auckland’s many industry focused shows.
It’s a clean modern hotel at a reasonable price. Only 15 minutes drive from the CBD, built on the edge of the Ellerslie horse race course grounds. It’s a great spot for any business traveller who doesn’t need to be in the CBD for meetings but still wants to go into town for an evening or two.
Waipuna Hotel and Conference Centre is located on the Panmure Lagoon, which is an extinct volcanic crater that is now a tidal lagoon. When the tide is in the view is beautiful, however when the tide is out it’s not quite so picturesque. The lagoon has a 3km public running/walking track around it making it great for an evening jog.
The location is close to Auckland largest industrial areas, and the conference centre is one of Auckland’s largest, so this hotel is a popular Auckland conference venue.
It has plenty of free parking so if you have a rental car this is a great choice. If you don’t have a car you’ll need to take taxis because public transport isn’t great in this part of town.
The hotel has its own pool but serious swimmers will enjoy the nearby Lagoon Leisure Centre which offers a large heated indoor swimming pool, a gym, and an outdoor pool with diving boards and a waterslide in the summer.

What makes a good Business Hotel?
It’s a combination of location and facilities. Ideally you want to stay near where you are doing business. If your meetings are all in the city then you’ll want a hotel in the CBD that allows you to walk to most of your destinations. If you have meetings all over Auckland then you’ll probably need a car and factors like parking and access to motorways will become a more important factor.
Many business people will want a desk in their room that allows them to plug in a laptop and keep on top of there email or make last minute changes to that sales presentation.
